MBL – Meter by Lightning

We are currently looking for a Developer to come help us with the back end.

Meter by Lightning (MBL) is a system for settlement of Fluids and Gases in Pipelines.

The Current Smart Pipeline systems deployed all over the Upstream and Midstream sector look like this:

Using a USB dongle based on Snapdragon 410 running Debian 11 with Linux 5.15 LTS, we can pull data from the flow computer part of the smart measurement component of the Smart Pipeline System.

The POC would involve using the USB Linux device (MBL Device) to generate invoices by calling the API of the needed data from the device and external markets to calculate a final invoice in Satoshis. As seen below in our Proof of Concept (PoC) below.

The MBL Device actually works as a pair of devices on either side of the custodial transfer point of the product. That talk to a central Server via the broadcast of BOLT-compliant Invoices that are checked for acceptable tolerance of slippage.

Short Term Issues to Overcome: Our first API Integrations

Strike uses Oauth 2 Vs. OpenNode uses standard API keys.

So OpenNode is easier but we want it done right,

Here is the work done thus far:

We are looking for a Developer, who has worked with Oauth2 and may find both equally easy. Oauth is arguably ‘better’ in the long run OpenNode has better documentation and seems more mature, and both support Webhooks (maintain state vs stateless exchanges using a code (e.g., the favorite 404)).

Strike supports more languages, and OpenNode basically javascript.

So there is the first challenge, building an invoicing codebase for our MBL Devices to generate BOLT invoices by two devices and paying the matched invoice on behalf of the purchasing party after the system verifies the invoices fall within a threshold.
